St. Mary Igikiro Foundation has been a key philantrhopic foundation working in almost all shperes of life but majorly in education, psychosocial support, health care, food, clothing and shelter welfare.
We support the underprivilege children in our society by molding them into our future leaders through education.
St. Mary Igikiro Foundation School is currently offering education starting from pre-primary school one all the way to junior secondary school II (also known as Grade 9) to the most impoverished children, that would have otherwise no chance, to access any education.
Over the years we have been in operation we have been able to support 1500 children to attain basic education past standard eight of Kenyan education system.
About ten of our alumni have been able to proceed up to university level and a sizeable number are in the working industry.
At school pupils are offered lunch daily to ensure peaceful stay at school during their learning. On need basis some pupils are offered school uniforms by ther school.
With support from well wishers and partners at some instances food and nutrition are offered to those parents who are most disenfranchised and economically challeged.
With support and coordination from the governments medical supplies and sanitary materials are made available to the pupils at school.
To foster community bonds, reduce stress and anxiety and enhance resilience amongst our pupils and parents as well we usually have continuous programs where counselling, plays, therapies and guidance are integrated to ensure get the most outcome for psychosocial support.
Periodically, we visit parents at their households to let them and their children feel vital part of our fraternity by show of love.
